The Student housing was designed to blend in with the dramatic architecture of the existing housing facilities in the campus and simultaneously reduce the cost of construction and maintenance  in relation to its predecessor.

 

The 3 floor level scheme was kept in order for the building volumes to act as a continuation of the existing main building.

 

Also, the building volumes are kept at a manageable scale, to avoid an extensive building site and facilitate the phased building of the project.

 

Great care was given to the privacy and independence of each student residence as well as the ability to enjoy the regional climate by having a outdoor private space.

 

A common kitchen and dining place for every 5 residences will encourage the socialisation of the students.

During the approval of the building permit, the vertical movements were redesigned, resulting in a bigger staircase with an embedded elevator for every two blocks.
